THE INVENTION THAT STARTED IT ALL
The telephone is an invention dating back to 1876. This invention paved the way for many technological devices to follow it. These devices include iPhones, iPads, computers, and basically any form of communication we utilize today. The early telephone was first made of two cans and a string. By the early 1900s, telephones were being made out of bakelite. (Scientific name being polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride) This material possessed synthetic qualities and was a good fit for telephones because it was malleable and easy to work with. These plastic telephones were popular from 1931 - 1962. Noticeable changes in telephone models is that the later telephones progressively get smaller.
